Fall Mini Sessions at Fort Williams - Portland Head Light | Maine Family Photographer

These are great for maternity, newborn, engagement, and families!

Who can come? The session is limited to a maximum number of 6 people. Mini sessions are designed for smaller numbers so that we can make sure we spend time capturing great moments rather than setting up & posing a large extended family. If you have more than 6 people in your immediate family please let me know so I try to place you in the schedule strategically.

What should I bring? You don't need to bring anything but feel free to bring props or a blanket if you want to do a cute setup! Also, consider snacks or bribes for the little ones!

What should I wear? After booking, you'll receive a Style Guide with tips to styling the whole family. You'll even receive links to all my favorite dresses at my favorite shops!

When will I get my photos? Your full gallery will be delivered 14 days after your session. If you'd like your photos sooner, you can pay a rush delivery fee of $75 to have your photos 5 days after your session. Rush delivery must be paid for by the day of your session.

Deliverables: $50 non-refundable retainer due at time of booking. 5 edited digital images | 20-minute session

Please Venmo: @jessica-webb

  • What I’m buying: I got this little playsuit for the beach and I love it. I usually wear the shirt open over my one-piece.

  •  What I’ve been listening to: We saw Maggie Rogers at Thompson Point this week. She puts on a great show. Lots of dancing and hanging out watching the super moon with some great music. If you’re in the Portland area this summer you NEED to check out Thompson Point for live music. They have food trucks and drinks too!

  • Where we’ve been eating out: So I haven’t really been cooking a lot but Joe and I have started our date nights again and we’ve been to Regards twice now and it’s great. Highly recommend going. The shrimp taco and the chicken wing gyoza were some of our favorites!

  • What I’ve been watching: I don’t typically watch shows like this but I’ve really been liking Hijack. It can definitely bring anxiety so not for those that are looking to chill out before bed, but Idris is great!

  • What I’m reading: I liked this article about how movies heal us.

There are still mini-sessions for fall available! These sessions are 20 minutes and cost less than a normal session with me. They are great for maternity, newborn, engagement, and families!

Best Playgrounds in Portland, Maine

Best Playgrounds in Portland Maine

Portland, Maine Family Photographer

These are just a few of my kid’s favorite places to hang out during the spring, summer, fall, and even winter months. I hope you find this helpful!

  • Eastern Promenade: located on the east side of Portland, The Eastern Promenade is high above so while your kids play you can look out at the calendar islands and the many sailboats off the coast. It is a truly beautiful location. If you need a snack there are a few bakeries close by (like my favorite Belleville) or there are often food trucks right there on the premises. It makes for an epic picnic location. You can also see the Narrow Gauge train scoot by and walk over to catch a ride on one of their trains!

  • Fort Williams: While most know Fort Williams because of its iconic lighthouse, The Portland Headlight. Most don’t know that if you hang a right instead of a left towards the lighthouse you’ll drive back to the playground. It’s a great spot! You can also venture over to The Children’s Garden, where the kiddos can walk among native Maine flowers, crawl through tunnels, look out of a tree house, and lastly slide down a granite slide. You can do all of this and enjoy a picnic on many of their open fields and even grab a lobster roll and gelato!

  • Willard Beach: Want to go to the beach and also have a playground to tire the kiddos out on? Willard is the place to do it. They have a playground right on the beach which is amazing for the kids and you! If you get there early enough I recommend getting a bagel and a sweet treat at Scratch Bakery and then heading down to the beach. You can always grab some ice cream from Willard Scoops on the way back to your car.

  • The Children’s Museum: If you haven’t checked out the new Children’s Museum location you should remedy that! Their new location offers lots of great new attractions, but they also have an epic playground outside. You do need to make a reservation in advance these days, but it will not disappoint!

If you’re looking to have a family session I always recommend Fort Williams and the playground is a great way to end the session for the kiddos. I get so many smiles on the swings and monkey bars!

Sunday Funday & Fall Mini Sessions | Portland, Maine Wedding and Family Photographer | Golden Hour

Hi there, Jess here. Hope your Friday is going well. It’s been a busy week over here in Portland, but we snuck in a few morning beach trips and maybe one or two trips to some donut shops.

  • What I’ve been cooking: Pesto Pasta! It’s the perfect summer pasta and the kids love it. I don’t really use a recipe anymore but I’m sure the NYT has a great one to reference.

  • What I bought: If you plan on being outside with food this summer might I suggest you get yourself some nets to cover your food. They are the best, these fold up when not in use which comes in very handy.

  • What I’ve been eyeing: I’ve always been a fan of Raven Roxanne and I think I might be ready to pull the plug on one of her pieces.

  • What I’ve been reading: Yellowface, was my recent read I couldn’t put down. I was feeling a void after reading Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and this definitely helped. Worth a read.

  • What I’ve been listening to: Men I Trust is on constant repeat over here and I’m ready for a new album. Really liked the Ring of Past release!

I’m happy to announce that I’m starting to book mini-sessions for fall! These sessions are 20 minutes and cost less than a normal session with me. They are great for maternity, newborn, engagement, and families!

Family photographer Portland, Maine

Hi there, Jess here. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. We had a few friends over and it was such a blast to see all the kiddos tearing it up in the backyard. Hope you’re staying dry today! Here’s what I’ve been up to this week.

  1. What I’ve been watching: I just finished The Bear and thought the second season was much better than the first season. I loved the first season! But this season just hit differently. Be ready for some anxiety while watching some of the family episodes, especially if you grew up Italian American, like me.

  2. What I’ve been buying: Just snagged this Sezane dress. It’s very flattering and comfy enough to wear moming around.

  3. What I’ve been reading: I just started Yellowface and I’m really liking it.

  4. What I’ve been listening to: Smartless! They have some of their live shows now on Spotify and I’ve enjoyed listening to content that didn’t air on the HBO special

  5. What I’m cooking: We had a little summer party here on Saturday. I made this focaccia recipe for people to make sandwiches with. I paired it with some pesto pasta.

Here to a great week ahead and as little rain as possible. :)

I’m going to be announcing a fall mini-session next month so be sure to check your inbox! These sessions are 20-30 minutes and cost less than a normal session with me. They are great for maternity, newborn, engagement, and families!

Wildflower Baby Shower | Portland, Maine Family Photographer

I had the pleasure to photograph my friend Michelle’s baby shower in Kennebunkport, Maine. She’s the owner and BIG talent behind Petalage. If you need flowers for any sort of event you should reach out to her! Her shop in South Portland’s Knightville area is really lovely, full of flowers and little gifts that easily pair with any of her lovely bouquets. Her talented friend McKenzie from Skye’s Artisan Bakes did the cupcakes and they were decked out in flowers, of course!

Anyway, her baby shower was just how you’d expect it to be, filled with flowers, good food, and of course, lots of laughter. Check it out and let me know what you think!

A family session with a new born is one of my favorite to capture. This baby only wanted to sleep, which works out great for photo sessions! They are super snuggly and this little guy’s mom brought bunny ears and faux grass to the shoot. How cute!

My Friday Five | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer
  1. I still miss San Francisco and loved looking through this victorian renovation!

  2. Easy Fancy Snacks to Impress your Guests: with baby fast approaching I don’t anticipate any guests, but think this would be great if you do have summer guests coming over.

  3. The Queen’s Beauty Favorites: I enjoyed reading what the queen uses.

  4. Strawberry Brita Cake: I would very much like to make this cake once I have some time and my brain isn’t so foggy after baby.

  5. I love this reel from the National Gallery about how oil pain changed how people painted.

Father's Day Guide | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Sirois_Family-037.jpg

Father’s day is around the corner so I put together a little guide of the things on our list for the dad in our life.

  1. A hammock! Dads want to relax this summer outside (until it is too hot that is) so why not get him a hammock that looks good and will give them some peace while looking into the sky. We got this one for our dad!

  2. A humorous book: This one will definitely give your dad some laughs.

  3. Plants: Our dad loves plants but doesn’t love the flies of summer so we thought we would get him one that catches the flies and is still a plant.

  4. Artifact Uprising photo book: I always gather all the photos of our family from the past year from my cell phone and put them into a book for Joe’s desk. This is so he can flip through them when he is in a meeting and remember some of our family memories.

  5. Photo Session with Webb Photo: Why not set some time up to capture some family memories? I’d love to hear from you!

  1. I’m really loving this blouse. I’m definitely going to get it after I no longer have a baby bump.

  2. Have you been watching the new season of Hacks on HBO? No surprise Everyone Loves Jean Smart.

  3. Very into side cutout dresses right now and just purchased this one from J. Crew. They’re having a huge sale!

  4. Lots of new TV, movies, art and books to take on over the next two weeks

  5. It’s ice cream season! I don’t own or have the space for an ice cream maker but I’ve been eyeing some no-churn recipes that I can make with my kiddo this summer.

Be on the lookout for my Father’s Day Guide!

Laura and Leo's Wedding | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer | Inn by the Sea - Cape Elizabeth

Laura and Leo were married in a small ceremony at Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I love when a couple gets ready together. They were all smiles and excited to share their day with family and friends. It was a little misty and overcast in true Maine weather, but they were not deterred. After they exchanged vows we went for a walk to the beach and watched the sailboats from the sand.

My Friday Five | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Happy Friday! I hope you have some wonderful plans for this long weekend. Things have been pretty slow this week as we wait for the new bambino’s arrival. Lots of trips to the beach, prepping for the bambino and, of course, lots of pastry and donut trips (my fav donuts in Portland are HiFi). Here is my Friday five. Have a great long weekend!

Photo from a recent beauty shoot with makeup and pressed flowers by Sheena at Nomadic Goat.

  1. Proof of mom photos: This post by The Busy Toddler was a great reminder to remember to take a photo with your bambinos.

  2. Floret Flowers: If you’re into planting and always looking for inspiration as well as knowledge you should join their emailing list. Their guides are very helpful!

  3. Everytown: After the events over the last few weeks it’s time to be more vocal about this country’s relationship with guns. Webb Photo has donated to EveryTown and will be looking into volunteering opportunities in our community.

  4. Robe I’m eyeing.

  5. Anne Hathaway at Cannes: I don’t typically follow the Cannes red carpet but all of Anne Hathaway’s looks have been stunning. She is styled by Erin Walsh.

Dana and Rory's Wedding | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Dana and Rory were married on a sunny day in May. The bride got ready in her childhood home and was surrounded by her family and friends all morning. They had their ceremony on an open lawn with a beautiful lake behind them and a custom wedding arch built by the groom. They celebrated under a white tent into the night!

My Friday Five | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Hey, hi. hello and happy Friday! We made it! As the weather gets warmer and warmer here in Maine, i’m trying every possible way to stay cool while 9 months pregnant. Lots of beach trips this week with my legs in ice cold water to cool me down. Ready or not, here is my Friday Five!

  1. Lemon Everything!: I’m on a citrus kick currently. I made this cake this week for the second time. I also made these Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and my 4-year-old gobbled them up without asking for maple syrup. The only thing I’d suggest is to rub the zest into the sugar before mixing it all up. It really brings the max lemon flavor out.

  2. New sleepwear! My summer sleepwear has seen better days. I bought this dress! It’s light enough to sleep in and flowy enough to keep things breezing during a hot summer morning.

  3. Everything Everywhere All at Once: I don’t watch a lot of movies these days, but Joe and I were really intrigued by this one. A sci-fi action movie around the metaverse with a touch of humor. It held our interest and I really enjoyed the ending. Give it a go!

  4. First Time Manager Tips: Because of the last two-plus years I haven’t gotten the chance to work on my management skills. Working with a second photographer takes a lot of work. You need to communicate well and have clear expectations to ensure that each couple’s vision is carried out. This was a nice refresher as we kick off the 2022 wedding season.

  5. Amsterdam Gardens Travel Guide: My home garden looks sad due to me not feeling great at the beginning of my pregnancy last fall, so I’ve been looking for inspiration for bulb planting this fall. This was a great place to start.

Meredith & Andrew

Did you check out my blog post from earlier this week?

With the last wedding season being so busy due to reschedules and new weddings last year I didn’t post any weddings. You’ll start to see them come through over the next few weeks, especially because this season I’ll be taking it slow due to the new bambino. Check them out and tell me what you think!

My Friday Five | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Happy Friday all! This week has been full of gardening, spending warm afternoons on the beach and trying some new spring recipes. Lets dive into My Friday Five!

Maine Wedding Photographer

Maine Wedding Photographer - Still Life of Oranges

  1. A Messy Table, a Map of the World -This article from NYT about Dutch Still Life paintings is a great interactive read about why Dutch Still Life Paintings are important and what they can teach us. You can see some Still Life photos I’ve created for brands over the years here.

  2. I tried the Chicken Katsu recipe from NYT this week and it did not disappoint. The whole family loved and ate it (HUGE with new recipes) and there was enough to have leftover the next day. Grab some sourdough, tomatoes, spinach, mayo and siracha and you have a great little lunch sandwich.

  3. I’m currently 8 months pregnant, but I’ve been eyeing a new sweater that I can be worn at all stages. This one caught my eye and I think I’ll finally splurge and get cozy with it this week.

  4. 7 Things to Know About Lilac Bushes - Lilac season is almost here in Maine! While I only have one lilac bush, I love watching it bloom every year.

  5. LONDONTOWN Illuminating Nail Concealer - This was the buy of the week for me. I enjoy having a good manicure, but with a 4-year-old and another bambino on the way, it just isn’t in the cards for me. I bought this nail concealer and it makes my nails look as fresh as if they were done at a salon. My application skills aren’t the best but this polish is forgiving and looks like a fresh gel manicure. The best part, it dries within seconds! HIGHLY recommend.

I’m pretty booked for 2022 and I’ve started to book for the 2023 season. Reach out if you or anyone you know is looking for a wedding or family photographer this year!

My Friday Five | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Every Friday I want to share 5 things that either I read, enjoyed or inspired me this week. Join me in welcoming the Friday Five!

  1. Chocolate Chip Muffins! Diane Morrisey posted a recipe for Bakery Style Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Muffins and they are GOOD. Tip: if you don’t have buttermilk just make some, I always use this as my guide.

  2. Friday Pizza: every Friday is Pizza night in the Webb house and I always make the dough, while my husband is in charge of pizza making and baking. I always use Roberta’s recipe. It is easy to follow and pretty fuss-proof.

  3. I wrote some thoughts this week about adding another bambino to our family as well as listed some things we are buying this time around. Have you gotten a chance to read it? I’d love to hear if you have any of these things or if there is something we should add to the list.

  4. How to stop freaking out: “If you can prevent your emotions from taking over in the face of stress, you can avoid a lot of regret and set a good example for others.” After the last 2 years, I think this is a good read for us all.

  5. Mother’s day is around the corner! Have you picked up something for that mama in your life? I wrote a little guide and another guide for the photographer mama in your life.

Bambino #2 is coming this summer! | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Bambino #2 is coming this summer, which is very exciting but that also means I’m currently busting at the seams! This is the main reason I’ve been a little slow to respond to things. Thank you to all my current brides and grooms for being patient with me!

We are going to be welcoming another little boy to the Webb house and Victor couldn’t be more excited to have a little brother.

I’m changing things up this time around with what I feel I need to welcome this new bambino. The last time I had a bambino was over 4 years ago and the baby landscape, in terms of devices, has definitely changed.

I’m going to share what I’ve purchased and will share if we decide to purchase or omit things as we learn what this new little guy likes.

Baby Gear

  1. The Nanit: I was a big fan of the Owlet with Victor, because he was an early roller and it gave me some peace of mind. The Nanit has that technology built into their cameras and tracks the baby’s sleeping patterns. I like data when it comes to figuring out a baby’s sleeping schedule so it was a high priority buy for me.

  2. Milk Storage bags: Victor was tongue-tied so pumping was a big part of my routine early on. I’m going to do the same this time to ensure that milk production stays high! I was a big fan of these the first time around.

3. Boon Naked 2-Position Collapsible Baby Bathtub: I love this tub because it has the ability to fold up and hang in the shower. We only have 1 bathroom and really try to minimize the amount of space items in our home take up.

4. Dr. Browns Natural Flow Baby Bottles: These were the bottles our lactation specialist recommended, the first time around, and they worked out nicely so I'm definitely going to repurchase them.

`5. FridaBaby Electric NoseFrida: An electric NoseFrida! a NoseFrida is a necessity with a baby but an electric one is next level.

6. Therapy! This isn’t something I necessarily purchased but I decided it would be a good idea to have this in play this time around. I had Post Partum Depression the first time around and didn’t realize it until I was coming out of it. This time I have a 4-year-old who looks to his mama for everything. It’s important to me that I can be my best self with him and be my best self for myself through this. I think this will definitely help with supporting myself through the recovery process.

7. Delivery Meals! I haven’t purchased this just yet, but I’m still doing research. Last time I underestimated the need for a well-prepared meal ASAP after nursing. I won’t make that mistake again and will be sure to have things on hand.

Is there anything you’ve bought recently for your baby that isn’t on this list that you think is a must-have? Let me know!

5 things for Mom! | Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Hi there!

It’s been a while, but I’m back! With Mother’s Day approaching, and as a mama myself, I wanted to share 5 things that I appreciate and/or use every day in my life.

Jessica Webb - Photographer Portland, Maine

Flowers

Flowers! It’s no surprise to anyone that knows me best that this would be at top of my list. If you’re local to Portland, Maine may I suggest a bouquet from Petalage? This year's blooms are inspired by the ocean with shades of white, coral, peach, and sky blue.

Caraway

For those mama’s that enjoy cooking this pan looks lovely on your range and really holds up to the hype. I was gifted a Caraway pan for my birthday and my husband jokes that it’s my other baby.

Jewelry

I love me some simple jewelry and Fewer Finer is usually where I go for shopping needs. Madison runs a shop with simple everyday jewelry. I own a pair of her studs and they are one of my cherished pieces.

Portland, Maine Photographer

Lip Tint

After I had my son my days of wear lipstick every day ended, but I wanted to still have some color on my lips (to help wake up my tired face). I started my search for a lip tint that would hydrate and leave a nice color, then Le Lip Tint entered the chat. This lip tint by French Girl Organics checks all the boxes for me: hydrating, great color, doesn’t crease and a good price point. The shape of it also makes it fit into you pocket nicely for those mama’s on the go.

Portland, Maine Wedding Photographer

Sneakers

With the nicer weather approaching I think some nice sneakers to go with a spring dress or a pair of jeans is the way to go. I’ve been itching to get to sneaker weather!

Flowers that will last!

I know I said 5, but I couldn’t help but throw in some flowers that will last mom past Mother’s Day. My flower prints are a great gift idea and I can work with you to have them printed and framed the way mom will love! Just reach out!
